Updates

Hey guys and gals! (:
Okay so this is my first official post and so much has gone on since I last posted!! The day after I posted, I got my 2nd letter!! Which also happened to be my 18th birthday. Was so not expecting another letter for at least a week! He has amazing timing (: Another exciting thing happened that day, we found a picture of him on facebook in basic training!!! We think it's him anyway, definitely the same features and height. Has to be him. Ecstatic is not strong enough of a word I would use!! My tummy had MANY butterflies. Since then I have gotten 2 more letters including a 2 pager completely dedicated to my birthday with a poem. Some drama has occurred since then over whether or not I could handle my relationship with all the stress. But if you love someone, you deal with it. Long distance relationships are hard, military makes it even harder but its so so worth it because I love my boyfriend with everything I have.

Avery's Intro

Hey, I'm Avery and I'm an army girlfriend :)
-I'm 18 years old, and my soldier is 19.
-We've been dating for 2.5 years as of August 7th.
-We are high school sweethearts, we met waiting in line to get textbooks and our class schedules.
-My soldier's name is Jon, he is almost half way done with Basic Training about 2 states away from me.
-We haven't talked in over 3 weeks, but today (8/10) I got my first letter from him :)))

Rhonda's intro

Hi yall my name is Rhonda. I will be one of our regular bloggers here. Let me tell you a lil about me and my army life.  I am 23 years old. My darling soldier is 24 and a combat engineer stationed at Ft hood tx. We are not married yet but talking about maybe changing that soon. I moved down here from Arkansas 5 months ago to be with him. Its been an interesting first few months getting use to this life. For me its no longer 5pm is 1700. I have gotten use to 0500 wake up calls and the sound of taps at 2200. My world was just turned upside down when my love came home and informed me that they had orders to deploy first part of the year. I'm sure you will see all my fears surface in the next few months as I prepare for his departure. I've manage to meet some of the other guys he works with wives and they are amazing. I feel blessed to be forming a good support system here.
